Angela Bodey
B.Sc., B.V.Sc., PhD., MRCVS

Angela Bodey qualified from Bristol in 1988. After 3 years in mixed and small animal practice she carried out clinical study gaining a PhD at the RVC.

This involved assessment of canine and feline blood pressure and investigation of factors that affect it. Post doctoral work included detailed cardiac assessments, especially in sight hounds. She has published several papers in peer reviewed journals around the subject of blood pressure. Angela has been seeing referral cardiac cases at Abbey House since 2000.

Appropriate cases for referral include:

  • Those animals requiring echocardiography, including murmur evaluation
  • Doppler studies
  • Investigations of arrhythmias and syncope
  • Holter monitor to augment examinations carried out at the referring practice
  • Management of congestive heart failure
  • Diagnosis and management of hypertension
  • Investigation and management of pericardial effusions
