We are currently looking for confident applicants wanting a career in nursing to join our team of vets, nurses and support staff at our Morley hospital as a Veterinary care assistant. If you are wanting to train as a veterinary nurse then this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a busy training practice. There you will work closely with our Vets and nursing team in our Morley hospital. We deal with first opinion, referral and emergency cases and cover several practices out of hours in the local area.
As a PreTvn you will learn the skills required to move over into a trainee veterinary nurse position.
Your contract will be approximately 34hrs per week
Shifts cover 24 hours a day and include weekends and bank holidays, you will also receive practice bonus, staff allowance.
You will need to have the qualifications to be enrolled at college for Veterinary Nurse training – please check CAW or Myerscough college for the entry requirements before applying for this role.
A full driving licence is also required.
All veterinary care assistants will be expected to attend college at a time designated by the practice in order to qualify as a Veterinary Nurse.
We are looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join the team working at the veterinary hospital in Morley. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with referral veterinary surgeons nursing more complex cases.
As an RVN in a busy 1st opinion and referral practice which also offers out of hour’s emergency care, you will be expected to undertake all aspects of the VN role. You will assist with all types of surgery ranging from routine neuters to the more complicated major surgeries such as thoracic and abdominal surgery. We also offer radiography & contrast radiography, CT, ultrasound and endoscopy.
A high standard of nursing is expected at all times and as a representative of Abbey House you will be able to provide this level of care for both medical and perioperative patients. We hospitalise a wide range of animals which require a high standard of medical nursing and our in-patient facilities offer ICU with oxygen kennelling/ventilation, oncology unit and an isolation unit alongside a cattery, exotic area and routine kennelling. You will have access to our in-house laboratory and will be working alongside our experienced and very dedicated team of vets, night vets, nurses, night nurses, animal care assistants and lab technician.
Day rota nurse – 40 hours per week including 1 in 4 weekends. CPD allowance, practice bonus, staff allowance.
Night nurse – Average 33.6hrs per week, 5 on 7 off. CPD allowance, practice bonus, staff allowance.
