Abbey House Hospital is based in Morley, 7 miles south of Leeds with great train and bus links into the city, as well as easy access to the beautiful Peak District and the city of York less than 1 hour away.
We are a high standard primary care and referral Tier 3 Hospital & Training Practice (proudly Cat Friendly) with four satellite clinics. Our facilities are excellent (4 theatres, separate cat/dog/rabbit wards plus ICU, CT, oncology suite, visiting MRI, scopes including laparoscopy, operating microscope, dental suite with x-ray, high spec internal lab with lab tech) and we have an experienced and supportive Nurse Leadership Team. Our OOH service is run by our own dedicated night team, meaning our caseload is amazing but there is no requirement to work regular OOH.
We are currently looking for an Oncology nurse to join our team. An RVN with experience or a keen interest in oncology would be considered. The role will involve:
- Working in a dedicated Oncology Suite, Vet and Nurses.
- Administration of chemotherapy including CRIs
- Carrying out follow-up admits / discharges for the Oncologist plus regular personalized ongoing client communication
- End of life consultations
- Excellent blood taking and application of “one stick” skills needed.
- Assisting with monitoring of Lymph nodes, take FNSs, CTs, x-rays and ultrasound scans
- Responsible for all day to day stock control and administration of the department
- Fully supported training provided and a lot of relevant CPD available
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over 4 days including 1:4 weekends
Shifts are either an 8am or a 9.30 am start with an hour off for lunch.
