Treatment of Wild Animals at Abbey House Veterinary Hospital

Abbey House Veterinary Hospital are happy to see all types of wildlife and offer this service free of charge. Our aim is to release these animals back into their natural habitat or refer onto a wildlife rehabilitation hospital. It is therefore our policy that treatment will only be attempted when we believe they have a good chance of surviving in the wild. We do not believe that wild animals should be kept for prolonged periods of captivity as this significantly compromises their welfare. If there is no realistic prospect for release into the wild, then sadly the most appropriate and humane action would be euthanasia.
