We are absolutely FABulous

Christmas has come early at Abbey House because we have just received a fabulous Gold Star!

The Feline Advisory Bureau launched its Cat Friendly Practice scheme earlier this year. Over 2000 practices were sent information along with nomination forms. Nearly 200 nominations were received from over 80 practices.

All the nominated practices then had to submit a presentation which detailed what they were doing for cats within their practice. A shortlist was then assessed by the FAB panel of professionals. At Abbey House they looked at our overall facilities and then the more specific cat friendly equipment and facilites we have, including our cat only hospital and waiting area.

At the beginning of November, we discovered that not only had we achieved an award but we have gained the highest available, a Gold! All the Gold Award winners

The judges said they were extremely impressed by the facilites and equipment available in our practice and by the high standard of care offered to all our patients. They said "despite running a large busy surgery the staff maintained a reassuring personal touch and gave time to each of their clients." On the 10th November Jane White, our Head Nurse and Fiona Hazell, Rothwell's Practice Nurse, attended the award ceremony in London and received this fantastic accolade.

We are all extremely proud of this achievement and would like to thank those clients who nominated us for the competition.
