Take the Lead Sponsored Dog Walk

On Sunday 16th October we all pulled on our 'walking boots' and headed out to Pugneys in Wakefield to take part in the sponsored dog walk for the Animal Cancer Trust. It is the third year we have run this event and it is growing every year. We had a great turnout of Abbey House staff, clients and patients and a Thank you and Well done to all those who took part, or just supported by raising money.

We are still collecting in the sponsor money and will have a total to announce shortly, we do however hope to beat last years fantastic total of £750.

We now have our own chemotherapy room for the safe delivery of chemotherapy at Abbey House in Morley. It is a quiet and calm environment in which we can hospitalise upto 5 patients. We felt such an atmosphere is important for both the preparation of potentially toxic agents and for our patients who are frequently not in the best of health and who often have to make multiple and frequent visits to the hospital during the course of their treatment. Look out for pictures coming soon!

Having a dog to walk round with wasn't obligatory and there

were a number of walkers without still supporting the cause!

THANKYOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE INVOLVED - see you next year!
