About the Surgery

Abbey House, Kippax opened in June 2007. The branch was extended in September 2008 to include an operating theatre, x-ray and laboratory facilities. Pets admitted at the Kippax and Rothwell branches for routine operations such as neutering or dentals are treated at Kippax.

The clinic now has three receptionists, a veterinary nurse and veterinary surgeon.

There is free parking both on the roadside in front of the clinic and also in a car park to the rear of the premises.



Trudi Pardoe

 BVSc MRCVS

 

Trudi has a veterinary degree from the University of Bristol, and has been part of the Kippax team since the clinic opened in 2007. During the past 10 years she has developed her interest in rabbit medicine and surgery and now provides veterinary care to rabbits over a wide area of Yorkshire. Her other main interest is feline medicine. In her spare time she looks after her house-rabbit and 3 cats.

Jade Thorpe

BVSc MRCVS

 

Jade qualified as a veterinary surgeon from The University of Liverpool in 2015 and after a year of working in a corporate small animal practice in West Yorkshire she joined the Abbey House team in August 2016. Jade generally works from the Kippax clinic but does help cover at all the branches and the Morley hospital. Jade has an interest in veterinary medicine and also runs the puppy training classes from the Kippax clinic. She has two dogs, a Pomeranian and a Pomeranian cross Cavalier who both compete in Rally Obedience competitions.

Veterinary Nurses

 

Steph and Elaine work on a branch rota pattern and their shifts include working at the Kippax clinic, the Rothwell clinic and the Morley hospital. 

Jane Easter Brown

Receptionist and animal handler, Kippax

 

Jane joined the practice in January 2000 working at the Rothwell surgery, then moved to Kippax surgery shortly after it opened after having her daughter. She has 5 ponies, 1 dog, 1 cat, 2 Guinea Pig's, coldwater fish and lot's of free range laying hen's and bantams.

Caroline started at Abbey House Kippax in January 2012. At home her time is taken with her horse Louis, her rescue Irish Setter Flynn and rescue cat Ruby.

About the Surgery

Abbey House Cleckheaton was opened in 1980 and has been looking after pets in the local area ever since. The premises were refurbished in 1990. There are three receptionists, a Veterinary Nurse and Veterinary Surgeon. The clinic is situated at the bottom of the main pay and display car park in the town centre and there is limited free parking at the roadside immediately in front of the premises.

Claire graduated from Glasgow vet school in 2008 and has worked in small animal practice in Leeds since then, she joined the team at Abbey House in June 2015. Claire has an interest in surgery, especially orthopaedic surgery.

Caroline Archer

Receptionist and animal handler, Cleckheaton

 

Caroline joined the practice in June 2002, she completed a Level 2 National Certificate for Veterinary Practice Receptionists in 2009 and completed the AMTRA (SQP) Suitably Qualified Person qualification in 2014 to become an animal medicine advisor. Caroline currently has two springer spaniels Charlie and Douglas and three chickens.

About the Surgery

Abbey House Rothwell is situated close to Rothwell town centre. There is free parking at the side of the building for one vehicle but ample space at the park which is just 2 minutes walk away.

There are four receptionists a veterinary nurse and one veterinary surgeon, the clinic is small and friendly but benefits from the support of both the main hospital in Morley and the branch in Kippax. Routine procedures such as neutering are carried out at Kippax but any more serious procedures would be carried out at Morley by one of our specialist Veterinary Surgeons.

Fiona works at our Rothwell and Kippax clinics. She qualified in 1987 and has a wide experience of all aspects of small animal medicine. She has worked at Abbey House since August 1995.

Pat Wood 

Receptionist and animal handler, Rothwell

 

Pat has worked at Abbey House clinic in Rothwell as a receptionist and animal handler since 1994. She is the proud owner of a tortoise called Flossy, a budgie called Custard and a foster dog named Prince.  

Brenda Waite

Brenda has worked at Abbey House on reception for many years and she was previously a client with her dog named Barney.

Lisa has worked at Abbey House Veterinary Clininc in Rothwell since 2007. At home she has two Guinea pigs, two fish and a Greyhound named Lily.

 

 

Emily Bennett

Receptionist and animal handler, Rothwell

 

Emily has worked at Abbey House since November 2012, her role started at the Morley hospital as a dispensing assistant and then changed to receptionist and animal handler at the Rothwell branch. At home Emily has a Lakeland terrier called Poppy and a small army of rabbits, many of which she fosters for a local charity.
